Great place to stop and eat! I had the Marylander crab cake sandwich, and it was one of the best crab cakes I had outside of Baltimore (and better than some of the places there, too)...super thick and tasty with lots of crab meat. My wife had a bourbon-glazed burger, (can't remember the full name off of the menu) and it was spot on: just the right amount of salt and pepper for seasoning when it was grilled, and it was cooked to the right level of temperature and firmness while still being juicy. And don't overlook the hush puppies: very well seasoned and tasty (not boring and bland at all!)...wanted to get more, but decided that too much of a good thing would spoil it. And the service was great: at the time we came in around noon, you could seat yourself, and the server took our orders quickly, and was attentive at the right level (not too much or too little follow up checks). Note: there is a full bar that adjoins the restaurant, so if you want you can enjoy drinks as well (we were doing cross-state driving, so didn't fit with our schedule).
My husband and I visited there for the first time after the Carrol County Fall Festival. We enjoy our meal of the blackened chicken wrap and the pecan apple salad. Service was a little slow, we're there almost an hour before our food arrived. It got very busy right before we left. Our waiter was very nice and friendly.
Service is a little slow, but food is delicious! It's a Bar on one side and restaurant on the other. It's not overly loud. Good option if you are staying in the area.
Amazing food!! Great portions, good price, employees were super helpful and kept up with everything!! It was a quiet place and very enjoyable!
After cycling through New River Trail, we found this spot in the way back in Hillsville. Our server, Larry, was very attentive and filled our drinks several times. We ordered fries and onion rings for appetizers, which were tasty, and salads for the entree. My apple salad was huge, with a large chicken breast on top, a lot of blue cheese, craisins, pecans and plenty of dressing. My hubs ordered the Cobb, which was also large with perfectly grilled chicken.
